I Love My Church!!!

This past weekend we showed a “I love my church” video. It was different people from Journey talking about why they loved their church. I thought it would be fun to share a few thoughts why I love my church.

  1. I love that you are passionate about God!
  2. I love that you have an expectant Spirit! Trusting God to pull off the impossible!
  3. I love that  you love people! Your willingness to get in the sandbox with the lost is off the charts!
  4. I love that you sacrifice your time & money for the sake of others!
  5. I love that you do life together, inviting others to join your communities!
  6. I love that you are growing in your faith!
  7. I love that you exist, as a church, for the next generation!
  8. I love that you allow me to dream crazy dreams!
  9. I love serving with our staff family! They are committed to Christ & to you! They are the best!
  10. I love that you have a BLAST!!!

Bonus love: I love that you are willing to park in crazy places to help create space for new people! What a great problem to have!

I’ll take care of it

One of the things I have noticed in parenting, or being a mate, is that situations arise and we simply respond, “I’ll take care of it.” Usually when these words come out of our mouths it is an attempt to make someone feel better or we just find it easier to do it ourselves.

The past few weeks God allowed me the opportunity to walk through a situation I could not fix, and it made me feel crazy! Robin wanted to help and there was nothing she could do! There was nothing to “take care of”.

In 2 Kings 4 there is a story of a lady who lost her husband, lost her money, and was about to lose her kids to debtors. She did not see any way out! She did not know how to “take care of it”, but God showed up and did a miracle! He took a situation full of trouble and turned it into a moment of glory!

God allows us moments in our lives that we can not fix, so that He can prove He is God! In every situation God is able, but we have to stop long enough to give Him time to respond! Sometimes the best thing for us is to be at the end of our rope where we will allow God the room to move! Simply put, there are some things in our lives that we can’t fix, so get out of the way and let God be God.

Health update 2

The radiologist did confirm today that there is a leak in my spinal cord. At this point, we are going to trust that it will heal itself. I get to start easing back into life tomorrow, understanding that life could include nausea, muffled hearing, and bad headaches until the leak is sealed. We are all in agreement that we want to trust God to close it and stay away from surgery. For some reason if it does not close, which it will, they can fix it surgically.

Over the next couple of months we will monitor the area of concern that appeared on my MRI last week. While we have concluded that all my struggles have come from the leak, we want to insure that there is not something else going on.

I cannot wait to get back to life!!! I am so blessed by our church, friends, and family! I’m SUPER EXCITED about all that God is doing!

Thank you for your prayers, support, and encouragement!
